Loved reading Real Food for Pregnancy, but need more inspiration in the kitchen?

The Real Food for Pregnancy e-Cookbook is a perfect companion to the original book, providing an additional 30 nutrient-dense recipes.

They’re the same simple meals I personally make for my family and have used to nourish myself in preparation for pregnancy, throughout both of my pregnancies, and through postpartum recovery and breastfeeding.

Why you'll love the Real Food for Pregnancy e-Cookbook:

Nutritious & flavorful: Pregnancy is a key time to prioritize nutrient-dense foods. You’ll see many of the “foods to emphasize” from Ch 3 of Real Food for Pregnancy show up in these recipes. I show you how to make even the least-appealing of these foods taste good (ahem… liver… ahem).

Fast & easy: We’re all strapped on time, especially if you have kids or a busy career (or both). Oh hey, that’s me! That’s why I included a number of Instant Pot and slow cooker recipes. Save on prep time even more by doubling or tripling the recipes. While you’re at it, freeze some for postpartum recovery.

Nausea-friendly: I’ve specifically included some recipes that can be helpful during the nausea phase following the guidance outlined in Ch 7 of Real Food for Pregnancy. Twelve of the recipes are specifically nausea-friendly.

Gestational diabetes-friendly: I designed all of the recipes to be blood sugar-friendly, so if you have gestational diabetes, you can enjoy everything within this cookbook. Even the desserts feature low amounts of sweeteners and have an innate balance of macronutrients (no naked carbs!) to prevent blood sugar spikes and keep you satiated.

Gluten-free: Many of my readers prefer to eat gluten-free (or grain-free). All the recipes are naturally gluten-free, even the Spiced Banana-Nut Muffins!

Embracing real food prenatal nutrition has never been easier and more delicious with these prenatal dietitian-developed recipes.

Allergens/dietary restrictions:

  • 24/30 recipes are dairy-free (or have specific modifications to be dairy-free)
  • All recipes are gluten-free
  • 26/30 are egg-free

Nausea-friendly recipes were so helpful!

The nausea-friendly recipe section was a life saver during my first trimester. Now that I'm through that phase, I can enjoy more of these. I love that the recipes aren't overly complicated and use everyday ingredients. No need to run out to some international food market and find obscure spices. Thanks Lily!

Delicious, yet simple recipes!

I've always loved Lily's recipes from her other books, so I was excited to check out her e-cookbook. These did not disappoint! And I loved that they were different from the recipes in Real Food for Pregnancy and her new fertility book. I'll definitely be keeping many of these recipes in regular rotation, including the Spiced Banana Nut Muffins, Chicken Tortilla Soup, and the Coleslaw. I haven't met a recipe of Lily's that I don't like!

Great book about the nutrients that make up the best foods for your body, especially during pregnancy, but the information is applicable for before and after, too.

Great resource!

These recipes were easy to follow and taste delicious. It was really nice to have recipes that were GDM friendly but also family friendly! I was skeptical of meatloaf with liver and split pea soup but even those were tasty and satisfying. The sweet treats were delicious too. This has really helped me feel like I can handle my GDM and not be sacrificing flavor, satisfaction, or nutrition. Definitely worth buying!
